  • This weekend is the final scheduled event for 2010. Be sure to join us this weekend November 6-7 for our annual Anza Borrego run. As in prior years, the group will be camping at the Fish Creek campsite. Full GPS coords, directions and further details about the run are available on the Socal TTORA forum thread here:
  • After a tenure of almost two years, our current chapter president Rick Pray will be stepping down. During that time, Rick has helped refine the image of the Socal chapter and greatly increased run participation. Last year the chapter launched a new website, added more staff members and hosted a full line-up of events throughout the year. This year the chapter the chapter hosted the national TTORA Takeover event, on top of the normal full schedule of events. Rick has been instrumental with his leadership to help organize all the events. The Socal TTORA chapter appreciates all the hard work he has contributed to the club and thanks him for all his hard work. Rick will still remain on staff as a trail leader.

  • Inauguration of our new chapter president, Michael Ramos (sparky), will take place this weekend at the Anza Borrego run. Michael has been a Socal TTORA member for many years and has offered to take over the duties with Rick stepping down.

Michael offered these words to our outgoing president:
“I believe you are the epitome of what a TTORA chapter president should be. You always have a great attitude and good sense of humor. You know when to let people have fun but always remind everyone of Tread Lightly principles. You've orchestrated your leadership team beautifully. I don't know anyone who hasn't enjoyed the pleasure of meeting you. You will be missed as president and, as usual, I hope to catch you out on the trails. Thank you for your time and commitment to the chapter!!”

In acceptance of his new position with the club, Michael said:
“TTORA is the only club I belong to and I really have no interest in joining any others. You all are the type of people I have fun wheeling with and I enjoy all the runs I've been able to attend. My off-road heart is here and will continue to be for as long as the chapter exists.”

Congrats to Michael on the new position with the club and good luck!

  • Next year’s run schedule will be discussed later in the year by the staff. If anybody has some suggestions of places/trips/runs they would like to see added to the schedule, please send an email to Tyler at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Thanks to all the Socal TTORA members for another great year!  Have a safe and enjoyable holiday season. We look forward to seeing everybody on the trails in the New Year.
